Congrats to Sylvia Martin, the random winner! I picked two favorites, and could have picked many more…so many of you had beautiful definitions of friendship and friendlessness! I chose one from the blog comments and one from my 500 Words Facebook page. They are: Sarah Esh and Laurie Hoover. Sarah, I was drawn to the somber, realistic tone of your comment after the loss of your friends. I hope you can have a refreshing time with a friend at Starbucks. Laurie, I confess that my love of words gets the best of me at times. I had to have one of our anesthesiologists define “lachrymose” for me, and it’s such a poetic description of a friend-less life.
