The Contest Winner, and a Brief Winning Thought

I wasn’t joking when I said I was heading into a tunnel of work….hence the late hour of announcing the winner of this week’s drawing.  It is:  Mary Jane Weaver.  Congrats!

I’ve spent most of today recovering…from that run down the three flights of hospital stairs to catch the surgeon before he scrubbed in to his surgery to tell him about the emergency coming from another hospital; from that meal I finally sat down to, only to have my phone ring with an important question, forcing me to pick up my food and dash from the cafeteria back up to the operating room; from that patient who nearly lost his mind in frustration, and I was the message bearer; from that doctor who nearly lost his mind in frustration, and I was the message bearer; from the conversations I wish I wouldn’t have had, the things I wish I wouldn’t have said, the things I wish I would have said, the 16.5 hour day when I walked 16,000 steps and 7 miles, according to the iPhone app.

I really don’t mean to complain.  I cried in exhaustion for awhile this afternoon, and I remembered Moses.  What a wonderful thing to have heroes to look up to, people who prove that God is with us when we give Him all.  Sometimes I worry that I’m not giving him everything, but today he reminded me of something wonderful… that even if I could do everything right, I would still be exhausted.  Even Jesus was exhausted, particularly with drama, I think.  His drama was drama like you and I have never known.

May God be with you, and may he remind you of wonderful things this week.
