Note Card Prayers to the Throne of Grace 

I was mildly surprised at the women’s conference yesterday. I welcomed the ladies to please tell me if there was someone they would like me to pray for as they battle in knowing how to “hold the heart” of that person…. But I didn’t know if they would want to share. However, a handful of women shared a request with me after each talk, and I wondered if there had been time, if there would not have been more. Pray for my co-workers, my friend, my children, etc. (Of course, I took the requests in confidence and will not share details.)

So tonight, by the warmth of my electric fireplace, I transferred each request to a card, with an individualized prayer, claiming a promise from Scripture for that person. It’s odd to have a stack of cards of mostly strangers to pray for, but strangely invigorating too.  I plan to have a special prayer day every week, to bring these requests to God. In the case of one rather urgent request, I added it to my daily prayer card stack. 

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that they were willing to share, because I know how much it means to me to know that people are praying for me or the people I love.
