Day 8: A satisfying final day in Lebanon

Can’t believe my time in Lebanon has come to an end! Lord willing I will check in from Jordan next time.  I may not post again until Saturday.

After being quite sick yesterday, our leader Kevin said today that he is surprised he felt as well as he did. I felt the same way, and we all agreed that, beyond the medications we are all taking, our health must be linked to people’s prayers to our great God.

We even ate knefe at Mr. Knefe 🙂 in short it involves cheese, bread, and sugar syrup. It was warm and gooey.

Our guides in general have seen to it that we lose no weight.  We have sat at plenty of tables loaded with Lebanese food like shawarma, tabouli, fattoush, etc, not to mention detours for sweets or ice cream at the end of a long day.

I’ve reached a point of mild brain overload in the last few days. I’m hoping with a day off I can re-start and stay alert for the Jordan portion of my research.

I asked to go back to our lookout point since we were close… I feel emotional standing here and was glad to go back. There are soldiers in those border mountains, and beyond, Syria, about which I have heard so much, but cannot visit.

Good night!
