Day 3, Jet Lag and Another Food Surprise

Too much jet lag to write a long post but I always write Saturday night so I can’t miss it:

  • Personal goal accomplished: stepped in the Mediterranean Sea. Almost feels selfish to care about little personal goals given the many people suffering in the world!
  • I thought I ordered grilled fish…(fresh from the sea, why not?) but they brought me A grilled fish… There’s a difference.
  • I did my best: removed the skin, ate the top half, dissected the spinal column and ribs (do I sound like a surgeon?) and managed to get some meat from the underside without flipping it over. I did not eat the head and it was quite good.
  • Since visiting the camps yesterday, I have had several very helpful conversations, worked on my book, and visited the sea. A great weekend to recover from jet lag and back to the camp on Monday.
  • Oh and I’m beginning to understand why Mediterraneans are so healthy…  It’s been good, it’s just not your normal American breakfast.

Not trying to start a food blog….

Good night!
