Kidnapped in Haiti. Now Released!

After a long paper shortage delay, Kidnapped in Haiti releases today from TGS International. This highly anticipated book about 17 Anabaptist missionaries kidnapped by a Haitian gang shares content from my exclusive interviews with the hostages. It also follows some of the thousands of people praying and working for their release throughout their 62 days of captivity.

It’s been almost exactly 10 months since CNN, Reuters, the Washington Post, and many other news outlets released the breaking story. Throughout the next two months, updates came and went, as people around the world lifted the missionaries in prayer. Perhaps the most confusing part of the story for many people is what really happened on December 16, when the missionaries were suddenly free. While no gang members made themselves available for interview, this book, based on the stories of the hostages, will answer many of your questions.

It was an amazing blessing and challenge to be part of this project. Obviously, this is their story, not mine. I haven’t shared much about the process of writing this book. I do plan to share with email subscribers some of the triumphs and challenges of writing Kidnapped in Haiti. I’ll delve into my personal and professional behind-the-scenes experiences relating to this project for a series of three emails over the next few weeks.

  2. I am eager to hear of your experience with this book. I have been life long friends with the one couple and their 2 young children. I am so grateful God gave you the gift of writing. I look forward to getting my copy which I too, pre- ordered. God bless you always!

  3. Kristina, you completely nailed it with this story. I read it in 3 days and couldn’t put it down. It was amazing! I sent CAM an email in December 2021, telling them someone needs to write a book about this happening. I knew it would be the best way to preserve and spread the amazing testimony God had worked out. Congratulations to YOU for being the one He used! The book was the best thing I’ve read in a long time!
